Investing in Tomorrow: How Rissah Temple No. 130 Supports Educational Excellence
Building Brighter Futures Through Scholarships, Service, and Opportunity
Education is one of the most powerful investments a community can make. Throughout Mississippi, Prince Hall Shriners have demonstrated how charitable giving and educational support can create opportunities for future generations.
Rissah Temple No. 130, located in the Oasis of Jackson, offers a meaningful example of this commitment.
A Legacy of Supporting Mississippi Students
The Temple’s educational contributions are reflected in scholarship programs associated with several Mississippi colleges and universities.
At Hinds Community College, the Rissah Temple No. 130 Timothy E. Crisler Academic Scholarship has supported students pursuing higher education. Among those recognized by Hinds for the 2024–2025 academic year was scholarship recipient Da’Neya Antoine of Grenada.
Rissah Temple scholarships have also appeared in the scholarship resources of Jackson State University and Alcorn State University, demonstrating an enduring connection between Prince Hall Shrinedom and educational opportunity.
These documented examples show how fraternal organizations can help students continue their education while strengthening their communities.
Education Is Part of Our Greater Mission
The Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine supports Historically Black Colleges and Universities through its Imperial HBCU Initiative, which promotes awareness, scholarship fundraising, and student success.
For the Nobles and Daughters of the Desert of Mississippi, this broader mission offers opportunities to champion education through mentoring, partnerships, charitable contributions, and student recognition.
Building a Legacy Beyond the Classroom
A scholarship represents more than financial assistance. It is an investment in someone’s potential and an expression of confidence in the next generation.
As we celebrate the work of Rissah Temple No. 130 and the educational mission of Prince Hall Shrinedom, we encourage our Temples, Courts, and community partners to continue supporting students across Mississippi.
Together, we can turn today’s opportunities into tomorrow’s achievements.
